Job Title: Assistant Professor of Social Work
Employer: Colorado State University Pueblo
Location: To work in Pueblo, CO and Colorado Springs, CO. Remote work may be allowed on a part-time basis from commuting distance to the University based on department needs and teaching schedule.
Job duties: Tenure Track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Social Work. Courses taught will include Diversity in Human Experience, Social Welfare Policy Practice, Social Work Policy, Assess/Intervene with Agency/Community, and Research in Social Work. Teaching responsibilities will include: preparing and presenting course materials; evaluating student outcomes and participating in student retention efforts; selecting and ordering texts/readings/resources; preparing, administering, and grading assignments; utilizing the learning management system; and assigning final grades. Propose curriculum changes and program modifications to the Department Chair; actively engage in research activities; supervise students in their research; and provide service to the university and professional community. Build and maintain a focused research agenda including but not limited to presenting scholarship at professional conferences, conducting research, and publishing work in peer-reviewed publications. Research activity may also involve grant writing and securing grant funding for research projects. Serve as faculty mentor/advisor for social work majors and participate in department, college, and university level service on committees and boards, community involvement, consulting, and discipline-relevant professional service. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
Requirements Include:
Education: Position requires two degrees: (1) a Ph.D. in Social Work, Social Welfare, or a related field. Employer will also accept a Doctor of Social Work (D.S.W.); or ABD in Social Work, Social Welfare, or a closely related field. (2) a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) is also required.
Other Special Skills or Requirements: Position also requires experience (1 academic semester) teaching social work classes at the college level. Demonstrated experience mentoring/advising students; demonstrated record of scholarly activity and publication; and a demonstrated ability to develop and modify curriculum and provide online instruction. The M.S.W. must be from a CSWE-Accredited institution or the foreign equivalent of a M.S.W earned from a school of social work regarded as accredited by CSWE.

The offered annual salary for this position will be between $60,000.00 and $65,000.00.
