Job Duties: Tenure Track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratory courses within the Environmental Engineering Department and in other Engineering Departments. Other duties include conducting research by initiating and sustaining sponsored research projects and actively collaborating with other research and industrial entities; mentoring undergraduate research students and master’s level graduate students and doctoral level graduate students; providing academic advising and career/job placement assistance to undergraduate and graduate students; and actively participating in the ABET accreditation activities of the program. The focus areas for teaching are environmental process engineering, energy and sustainability, environmental law, and pollution prevention. Sample courses to be taught include Water and Wastewater Treatment and Energy and Sustainability.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering field; one year of experience as an Assistant Professor, Environmental Engineering or one year of experience teaching Environmental Engineering or other engineering courses at the college level. Must have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Environmental Engineering and other Engineering programs as needed. Must have demonstrated potential for excellence in conducting independent research and writing competitive research proposals to gain external research funding. Also requires a Professional Engineering (PE) License or capability to obtain a PE License. Background check required.
