Sr. Faculty-Music: Music Program Director sought by Dawson Community College to work in Glendive, Montana.
Job duties: Responsible for the overall organization, administration, assessment, course development, and student recruitment. Responsible for building industry relationships, and collaborating with local K-12 schools and four-year institutions. Serve as sole faculty for the program and will have oversight in selection and scheduling of Music courses. Responsible for ongoing development of university music program. Teach courses in classroom and online. Teaching load is 15 credits a semester. Review program curriculum and develop or adjust educational courses as needed. Make recommendations and coordinate provisions for textbooks and course materials. Responsible for developing and maintaining a list of all qualified adjunct personnel for the program; and collecting and analyzing program data; enrollment, graduation rates, employment, etc. for the purpose of program review. Provide student advising, recruitment of students, development of class schedules, staffing of adjuncts and evaluation of instruction. Develop and maintain a listing of qualified adjunct personnel for the program. Facilitate internship experiences and encourage overall student professional development opportunities. Courses taught: Enjoyment of Music, Fundamentals of Music Creation, World Music, Music Theory I-IV, Keyboarding I-IV, Band, Choir, Aural Perception I-IV, Applied Lesson.
Requirements include: Doctorate of Musical Art (DMA) from U.S. accredited institution; or Ph.D. in Music, Music Performance, Musical Arts or related degree; and working knowledge (1 year) of music theory, methodology, and curriculum development.
