Job description: Establish budget estimates for the annual auxiliary fund budget process which includes developing student tuition and fee recommendations for all mandatory fees, cash funded undergraduate programs, graduate programs, and other business enterprise programs.  Conduct budget review meetings with program managers, University administration, fiscal managers and Department Chairs. Coordinate all planning and reporting activities in the budget office for the University.  Facilitate the development of a five-year budget plan for cash funded academic programs and student fees. Be responsible for ensuring the budget in Banner represents the current projections. Prepare quarterly written analysis for AVP of Administration and Finance and Board of Trustees that identifies changes in revenue, expense, and fund balance for auxiliary funds. Act as a liaison between program managers and administrative departments (including Accounting, Human Resources, Accounts Receivables, and others) to assure changes and the updates are accurately completed. Assist program managers in developing the annual recommendation for student fees and tuition rates, and present recommendations for student charges to the Budget Recommendation Committee. Serve as the budget representative on college-wide committees; conduct analysis, develop reports and respond to data requests for the auxiliary funds; document processes related to the auxiliary fund programs; and provide training to internal and external constituents as needed. Identify opportunities to streamline our budget processes to improve efficiencies and data integrity, and analyze and monitor the fiscal activity for the University’s Administrative Recharge fund.

Requirements: BS in Accounting, Finance or related field, and 3 years of experience as a Budget Analyst or in any finance or accounting-related job title. Position also requires 3 years’ experience working with financial planning, accounting, or budget development; and education or experience in budget and financial analysis; data analysis, research and reporting; project management with multiple stakeholders; Accounting System/Software such as SAP, Workday, Banner or a similar program; and grant management.  Also requires Six Sigma Greenbelt certification related to identifying and executing opportunities for process improvement.
