Job Duties: Tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Teaching load is minimum of 12 credit hours per academic year. Teach courses in person, hybrid or online format. Apply bilingual and biliterate proficiency in Spanish to instruct students on methodologies and strategies of bilingual and culturally diverse teaching and to provide bilingual endorsement in Spanish to student teachers. Maintain 5 office hours per week for advising and consulting with students. Work collaboratively with schools and community agencies. Develop, evaluate, and teach CLD courses and design CLD curriculum and supervise clinical experiences and/or student teachers. Provide service to the university and community, and engage in scholarly activity. Courses taught include:  Foundations of CLD, Assessment of CLD Students, Second Language Acquisition, ESL, Methods and Language and Literacy development for CLD Students.

Requirements: Requires Ph.D. in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education; Bilingual ESL Education; Culture, Literary, and Language; or closely related field (ABD accepted). Position also requires 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Professor, Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education, or 3 years’ professional teaching experience in linguistically diverse settings. Also requires bilingual/biliterate proficiency in Spanish; professional experience working with children/youth, families and communities in a variety of linguistically diverse settings. Up to 5% national travel required for attending and presenting at research conferences. Allowed to work from home part-time to full-time depending on COVID stay at home mandates within commuting distance of campus. Background check required.  

The offered annual salary for this position will be between $60,110.00 to $65,000.00. A wide array of benefits options are offered to current and potential employees.
