Job Title: Forensic Specialist

Work Location: Golden, CO
Job Duties: Perform forensic analysis and evaluations of building materials, site conditions, and various building systems (e.g., structural, civil, façade, roofing, sound and fire proofing), to ensure compliance with industry and safety standards, and building codes. Prepare documents to communicate as-built materials, current conditions, and repair recommendations; write technical reports providing interpretation of building codes and industry standards; review and coordinate reports with repair drawings; and identify and implement applicable codes, manufacturer data, and site-specific documents and industry standards. Ensure design materials meet code and industry standards, assess overall scope of work to coordinate final design layout, and draw site specific details. Perform risk analysis on various phases of a project and create processes and systems to reduce overhead. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Recap Pro, Bentley Engineering RAM Elements, Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, laser scanner, total station, ground penetrating radar and other tools and technologies in completing job duties.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Primary Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited school + 12 months (1 year) experience in a civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction-related position. Experience may be gained pre- or post-bachelor’s degree and may be gained in a combination of these areas.
Other Special Skills or Requirements: Position also requires education or experience in:
conducting relative level surveys; creating a user interface for data manipulation; taking field measurements to recreate plans and 3d models; forensic documentation of structures; performing repair calculations; and production and review of construction drawings.
Up to 25% domestic travel required for site inspections, performance testing, and repair observations.
Offered salary range $95,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year. Employer offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, EAP, tuition reimbursement, and 401k savings plan; company-paid holidays and company-provided PTO.
