Job Title: Mining Engineer

Work Location: Golden, CO
Job Duties: Provides resource estimates, geometallurgical models, pit optimization, mine design, productivity analysis, capital and operating cost estimates, and other planning functions for developing and producing mines around the world. Specifically, the mining engineer will conduct mining studies including diligence, feasibility and onsite operational assessments for new and existing surface and underground mines in order to plan optimal mining operations. Provide resource and reserve estimates. Create mine plans including haulage simulations, pit designs, ramp designs, and underground mine layouts. Complete product scheduling, haul road design, optimal fleet analysis, and dump designs. Utilize Mine planning software (Minesight, Deswik, Vulcan, Leapfrog, Whittle), programming languages such as Python, non-parametric statistical tools (R, Matlab) MS Excel and MS Project in carrying out mining engineering duties.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Primary Education: Master’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering or related field.
Other Special Skills or Requirements: Position also requires working knowledge (12 months) of geometallurgical modeling including non-parametric modeling methods and experience resource and reserve estimation. Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Background check required.
Offered salary range $123,802.00 to $135,000.00 per year. Employer offers benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance – 50% of EE premium paid by GRE, 0% of dependents paid by GRE; 401K – with 3% safe harbor contribution paid by GRE; 9 paid Holidays per year; Sick Leave – allow up to 5 days per year; PTO – start at 2 weeks per year with 1 day increase each anniversary – max allowed 4 weeks; Medical Leave – unpaid medical leave may be granted for up to 3 months (including use of accrued PTO) with approvals.
