Job Title: Montessori Certified Lead Toddler Teacher

Job Duties: Oversee day-to-day academic, social and emotional progress of students and care for children in the classroom; present Montessori and enrichment lessons to children daily. Observe children and their activities daily; document observations and maintain current academic records on all students. Plan and implement Montessori curriculum, enrichment activities, and theme-related, large group (line), and special event activities. Develop, prepare, and maintain a pristine, orderly, and inviting environment. Facilitate daily interactions with parents regarding their child(ren) and child(ren)’s specific needs. Hold regular conferences with parents regarding progress of children. Contribute to and/or write newsletters regarding events in classroom. Plan and prepare open houses and special events for classroom. Train, supervise, and lead any certified teachers, interns, afternoon coordinators, ECT, assistants, substitutes, volunteers, and special instructors in classroom. Attend staff meetings, planning days, in-service days, and other staff events. Maintain given budgets; keep records of all expenditures; and utilize existing inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies. Maintain accurate records of stock and tend to school’s inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times; attend to and visually supervise children at all times. Maintain, at a minimum, the legal teacher-to-child ratios at all times. Ensure that children are never left understaffed or unattended. Train and supervise children in the execution of fire drills and other safety procedures. Adhere to school policies and procedures, and any laws governing the school including, but not limited to, those of the state in which the school functions, those handed down by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Fire Department, and any other departments of authority as well as upholding the professional standards set forth by any agencies with which the school is affiliated or accredited. Position utilizes skills, standards, and certifications including Montessori Certification through an accredited Montessori teacher training program; Universal Precautions (including CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid), and other skills and standards in carrying out assigned duties. The education level being taught is preschool.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Montessori Certification through an accredited Montessori teacher training program.
Offered Salary and Benefits: Offered salary range $36,920 to $50,000 per year. Health benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision, Life, Short and Long term disability, Health reimbursement account, Paid time off, 401K retirement plan.
