Job Title: Lecturer, Department of Mathematics Employer: Fort Lewis College Work Location: Durango, CO Job Description: Teach college courses in mathematics. Teaching load is 24 credits per academic year (six to eight courses per year); courses taught may include College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Prepare class and evaluation materials; deliver lectures; grade coursework; and be available for student questions. Work in the department’s drop-in tutor room; collaborate with other instructors teaching common courses; and aid with the development of course materials. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as work with broadly diverse communities. Maintain a knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility, including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508. Produce and remediate digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards. Utilize SSPS; Overleaf/LaTeX; WeBWorK; Canvas; and other tools, skills, technologies, and standards in carrying out assigned duties. Requirements Include: Master of Science degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. Must have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate level; and requires working knowledge (6 months’ work experience or 1 post-secondary course using) of SSPS; Overleaf/LaTeX; and WeBWorK. Applicants must have also taken a minimum of 18 credits of mathematics courses at the graduate level. Background check required.
