Research and develop ways to achieve load flexibility and higher penetration of renewable distributed energy resources (DER) into existing electrical grid infrastructure to increase energy efficiency, lower greenhouse gases emissions and accelerate adoption of net zero energy and grid-interactive buildings. Reqs include MS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering; and working knowledge (6 months’ work experience, a post-secondary thesis project or 2 post-secondary courses) using MATLAB, EnergyPlus, MLE+, Power Hardware in the loop simulations and developing advanced controls for commercial buildings systems.
